Hello,
I am a happy new owner of a 1922 Olds 43AT, back in the 40s it was converted into a flatbed truck, its just a fun driver, as I was driving it around for the 1st time I noticed the throttle and spark advance levers advance while I am driving, how do I fix this? is it a weak spring somewhere? Any help and guidance would be appreciated, is there an online manual for these to locate all of the grease fittings, I would like to give it a once over,

That is one neat ride, I can see it would make a great parade car. Unfortunately I have nothing to offer for advice other than drop on down to the vintage forum and make a post there. We don't get many 20's era cars here on CO but maybe some one on vintage will have some knowledge or literature that may help.... Lost in the 50's.... Tedd

X4 that is a cool and somewhat rare car. The metal that the arm rides on I believe is supposed to be a friction device to keep the arm from moving on its own. Is it making good contact?

I have an old Chilton book that goes back into the twenties at my shop . I'll look at it today and maybe copy some info for you .
The Chilton book is kinda skimpy . Tune -up specs , flat rate , and parts info mostly though.

As Oldcutlass mentioned , a bracket or something may need to be tightened somewhere . To keep the throttle and advance levers from moving too freely .

 

I scanned the Olds pages in my old Chilton book .
Sorry, it only covers 1925 - 1929.
Maybe some info there that you or your "twenties" friends can use .
