Syracuse China Dates Codes Here:

Exhaustive overview found in WIkipedia.

This china design was most notably first used at the Oldsmobile Auditorium in Lansing, then at the Administration building later after the auditorium was demolished. This china was made for Oldsmobile for quite a long time, date codes are known (I think) from about 1950 -1970's.

Great memorabilia! I have a place setting of this and of the blue GM logo cafeteria china. Ran up on a few more pieces of each at a Spring Carlisle several years back. Buddy says "you gonna get it?" No, because one place setting is a display. You get two then you have to put together a set of dishes! and I had already done that with three sets of family china- my Mama's French Saxon, my grandma's Homer Laughlin, and my great grandma's Mount Clemens Pottery sets. Except for Mama's I found my ancestors had gaudy taste in dishes...

I used to drive by their factory all the time and knew a number of people that had worked their whole careers there. Those people really liked their jobs which is pretty complimentary for a manufacturing facility. If we didn't already have so much Syracuse China I'd likely go for these. Been using there commercial line, bought from their outlet store, every day for decades. Even the cat eats off its own set. Never broke or chipped any of them. The stuff is virtually indestructible.
