I painted my calipers and mounted the dual reservoir master. Taking the spindles in to get machined to work with disk brakes tomorrow. Are the spindles directional? Already got them mixed up

I got everything installed, just trying to get these stupid brakes bled. Also receive a package from lemoldsnut with some goodies. My car is the base model so it has a dome light instead of sail panel lights. I got some bezel for sail panel lights in my package and used them to mount my rear tweeters. I could have made them fit behind a lense but I didn't want to do that much work, and this way didn't involve altering the bezels.

I think the black looks weird so I'll prolly try painting them with silver or chrome paint

Thanks nonhog, I think I'm going to try some white paint to mimic the lense but haven't decided yet. Idk if I'm quite an audiophile but if you saw my room you would get that impression

When u re-install your wiper motor-don't forget the round soft seal that goes on between the motor and the firewall. I forgot mine until I found it underneath some other things. I am going to take it all back out and get that installed properly,

Everything looks really good and is motivation for my 67! I may have missed it, but how did you lower the Cutlass? (Springs, Coilovers, A-arms, etc..)
Thanks and looks great!

not to much going on with the car. one of my front springs sagged so im pulling them and putting new stiffer lowering springs in and im converting to power steering as well as doing the grand cherokee box mod. mostly focusing on handling right now.

I did the jgc steering box swap, still need to go over everything to make sure it's tight and make a return line but all went well. Oh yeah I need to bleed it too
DB9CB8A9-88B1-4640-BB87-562598595ADA_zpsyut6my6f.jpg
I went from 6.5 turns with my stock manual box to 3.5 turns with the jgc box

I bled the power steering system for about 35-40min tonight. Noticed that the steering is 3 turns lock to lock on the car not the 3.5 I got with it not installed. Haven't driven it yet but I can't wait to try it out

The wheels will hit the swaybar & body before it hits the internal stops in this box(actually this box doesn't have internal stops at all which is why its better than the GN & Monte Carlo boxes), which is why its slightly less than when its off the car.

It will be a massive improvement over the manual box for sure.
Hopefully the one you got also has the correct JGC internal valving for additional effort as well, then its an absolute killer swap.

I got kinda screwed when i did the JGC swap on my 66, the box i got had the right ratio & sweep- but the input valve had been changed out, so it still had the pinky steer zero effort feel like the original box.

I always planned to find another JGC box and try again. I had several friends who also did the swap the same time I did and theirs was much better feeling than mine was.

based on '66 Cutlass, I vaguely recall front run/ park lights going OFF when headlights go on. Tail lights obviously need to stay on in Park Light or Headlight mode.

So if no one has messed with the box it'll be firm? Haven't driven it yet and I bled it with the wheels jacked up. I'm switching to a smaller diameter wheel as well so that should add a little steering effort

you will have a tough comparison, since you had a manual box already, and those are harder effort than even newer power boxes...

The effort should be Roughly equivalent to the steering effort on most newer cars/trucks.

still dont have a running car, as soon as i get my cam that'll change though. other than the steering box swap i put in an old grant steering wheel my dads had since the 80's. i opened up my engine, lifter tick thread, and found some broken parts so i pulled the heads and used the porting thread to help me do some work and ordered a bigger cam. and i got some cool old 70's wire wheels, w.r. grace & co if any of you older guys recognize the name. hoping to have it running this coming weekend.

Lookin good! I'm still jealous that I missed out on buying that car.
I would have taken it a different direction than what you are taking, but still neat to see it coming along.

Let us know what you think of that JGC box once you get it fired up again!

I've got my eye on a couple cars... hopefully in a few more months I'll be able to reboot with a new olds project.

Haven't driven much yet but first impression is I'm happy I did the power steering swap. Has decent resistance, compared to manual steering, and steers way faster.

I'm running a quadrajet, modded with help from cliff Ruggles.

Extreme velocities divided hat

Tial 50mm bov

Borg Warner turbo with banks adjustable boost controller

3" down pipe, with cut out, that splits to dual 2 1/4". Stops at rear end now but want tail pipes.

Not installed yet but will be running meth injection from alcohol injection systems, I have everything just decided to instal it last.

Drove it today. I didn't get on it to much since my wideband isn't wired up yet and I want to take it easy until it's sorted out, I did hit 6psi though. Also found out my pcv doesn't like boost so I'll have to figure that out.

Boost controlled fuel pressure regulator?

PCV doesn't like boost... are you running a PCV valve on one rocker cover and a breather on the other? If so, I think the PCV valve should also act like a one way check valve, and not allow boost pressure to travel 'backwards' and blow air/oil out the breather.

It doesn't hold the pressure back above 4psi, which is where I'm at until I get everything tuned right. I did some research and bought some check valves and will be redoing the pcv system to allow positive ventilation while in vacuum and boost.
