1964 Cutlass restoration

Restoring my first car I purchased when I was 17. Now at 57 it is somewhat a dream come true. Finding parts has been a chore. Now looking for pistons for a 330 along with an oil pan. Also looking for a good hood and other body parts. Searched the net daily and just thought I would request a little help in a good source from everyone. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Well good for you! If you type in your search engine "pistons or engine rebuild kit" there are a number of sources for parts!!! There is a complete kit on ebay, Kanter has a complete kit, and in most cases check with your local auto parts house. You will be really suprised whats still available. Body and trim parts, just keep an eye out, eventually what your looking for will turn up.

Good Luck!!

The oil pan should be the same as any other Olds, they're all the same small or big block. Kanter lists your pistons for $336 a set of eight or $42 a piece.

I have a cleaned unit from a 403. The 330 pan is different only in the drain plug was a 1/2 socket drive end fitting, like a rear axle fill plug. The 403 pan has the standard 7/8ths plug.

$25 plus shipping.

Don't let the dream become a nightmare.

Sorry, but they are not. The pans will interchange, but BBO pans have bumps in front of the sump that are not present on the SBO pans.

I saw the one's at Kantor but it does not specify 2 bbl or 4 bbl and mine is a 4 with a high compression engine and I'm positive there is a difference in the pistons. Wasn't sure what to do but this has been the best price so far.

Hey Ficks! I have a 64 convertible I am in the rebound stages of a restore, I decided to hop the ol girl up a bit, so I took out the orig. 330 which was still running before I dismantled it. I would sell all if you are interested, I dont know where you are, so that could be a prob. I am in Utah. oh and the engine was bored .030 over not a teribble amount of time ago as there were no wear rings at the top of the cylinder. anyway, there ya go.
