Vista Cruiser Progress update
Sorry about the previous post, tried and tried to down load some pics that I took with my camera, but I probably should have adjusted the images from the menu on the camera first, were all too large, so I used a photo hosting site. The pictures are what is currently being done to my 67 vista cruiser wagon. Enjoy, and I welcome any feedback, complaints, concerns, etc.

Holy Customized Suicide Door Vista Cruiser Batman!
Can one of the mods merge the threads?
Here are the pics from the other thread.

I like it a lot, really nice work. I wish I could do metal work like that, maybe someday. Reminds me of an AMT 3 n' 1 model kit customized version, if AMT ever made a Vista model that is.
Is this going to be a ISCA type show car or a cruiser?
Those Cadillac tail lights should be really cool. There's a guy with a mildly customized Sportwagon around my area that I swear has the same ones or close, let me find the pics....
I found the pics.

It's painted a brown metallic and white, personally I really don't like the paint scheme on the car but to each his own.
I tried but the owner wouldn't talk to us "little" people or I would of found out what they were then, is that them?
I was hoping to blow him out of the water at the recent BOP show but he didn't show up this year, probably be in the modified class anyway.

Blue Vista,
Thanks for the kudos. My intent with this car is to build a "pro touring" car that is comfortable and safe to drive, but will have some "attitude". I am not sure why everyone always wants to do the Chip Foose two tone paint scheme, but I was thinking of using the same color on the car, probably a mustang ford color , fire mist red , but with four or five shades darker on the bottom, below the belt line. Interior will be custom with four bucket seats and a console running from dash all the way back. Hoping to use air bag suspension and four wheel disc brakes. And yes, those tail lights look like they could be the same.

Wow....
with the other pics that thing will be stunning, like the idea of the 4 buckets very 66-67 chargerish LOL.. but they did look great, be very cool with a third row that also folded down in the same material.
so I see the air scoops are you going with the 66-67 tripower look or the 70 type oai type, or is one to cool the engine the other for ram air?
I like the suicide doors I have always loved the early 60's lincoln 4 door convertibles.
love the caddy lights too

Thanks for all the nice compliments, long way from being done in terms of both amount of work remaining and the staggering cost of parts, services, etc. I'm shooting for a three year completion date, started this last fall, so, if I'm lucky, Fall of 2012. As far as functional OAI, probably not on this one, looks only, 1 tripower, aka:tricarb is enough, at this point I have a 66 toronado D block 39 degree cam bank angle short block with the good forged crank, and .921 lifters. I have a nice solid lifter cam, need the .921 solid lifters, have some nice forged crower rods, thinking about offset grinding the crank to chevy rod bearing size to fit the rods and going with a custom piston. Probably will use a aftermarket 4 barrel intake manifold, thinking about the crosswind, EFI would be nice, but spendy.

This is where I got these, the pictures didn't show how these doors latch, but I'm using large bear claw latches on the B pillar.

Richard,
what doesn't show in the pictures is the reinforcement done on the inside of the door to strengthen the hinge. I probably should try and get pics of this for everybody. The hinge is pretty robust on it's own, though.
