Hi i started hi, im new here in the newb section. I finally made it to the library so i can put up pics of my car. These pctures are from the day after i got it.

 

heres more, it looked pretty . i thought it was supposed to be green till after i pressure washed it.

I think the green stuff was moss and mold or something, i didnt leave it on long enough to really know.

 

looks a lot more better now. That is the local Washington scum, leave anything out over a year and you have that going on. I have to pressure wash my decks and patio's every year to get the same stuff off. My cars are always in the carports or in the garage.

 

Is that a fern growing on the floor? Nice! lol...That thing looks shweeet too! I may have to pick one of those up myself to add to the collection

i dont know what it was i just called it a bush but it was actually growing through the carpet.

Heh. If you're lucky a fern is all you'll find inside. No sense trying to save that carpet. Save up and get new carpet and underlayment.

 

yes i just got finished watching some old olds comercials when i signed up to the hamb and i liked it so i used it here too. that carpet has been out for a while now.

 

Your car has very rare optional 15" wheels. Does it also have disc brakes? The 15" wheels were required with front discs and also with the police package.
Do you have the center caps (same as Toronado) and all the trim rings? Trim rings are very hard to find.
Crank windows and no a/c. Bench seat. Odd set-up for a Delta Custom.

I only have two beauty rings for the wheels, no center caps. i do not have disc brakes, it has drums on all four corners. i thought it was kinda weird how low options it has for being a delta custom. as far as i know it only has power steering and power brakes, unless those were standerd.

 

how do i use the dial thats around the volume dial on my radio? And was there an option that would have a speaker behind the grill in the back seat?

 

The one behind the left **** is the tone control. You turn it to adjust the treble vs. bass sound. The one on the right is the fader switch if your car is equipped with a rear speaker. If you don't have a rear speaker then that one is just a dummy.

 

True, but in my experience, these controls did little to add bass. All they did was either boost or cut the treble. It was tone control in the most crude sense!

 

ok, ive got a slight update i took my car to the body shop across the street and have been working on it, my windshield frame is rusted. when we pulled the window out we found that the lower cowl area section was almost completly rotted away, you could see into the car. once its done and i bring it home ill post before and after pics.

p.s. we got the bottom section almost done it should be finnished today.

That's very common on these cars. If you can see traces of rust at the very front of the dash near the glass, chances are the lower WS channel is all rotted. I found my 68 convertible was just like that when I took off the stainless piece that the wipers park on.

 

Looks like a car with potential. Good luck great investment of time.

 

what size tire did the 68 88's come with? Another little update, my car is coming along pretty good and estimated completion is june 1st. And ill try and get some pictures up soon.

sorry i should have been more spacific i just want to know the tire height so my speedometer works right.

 

If you are running the original size tires, and have not changed the gears, then your speedo should be correct. Unlees your car shows signs of hot rodding, then it would be safe to assume that the gears have not been changed.

i dont know if i have the original size tires on, thats why i asked what size they are supposed to be. it has l-78's on it now.

 

H78x14. Your "l's" are two sizes too large.

 

Totally forgot about the speedo to left front wheel, instead of trans, of which I was thinking. I should know better as I had speedo problems with my '68 88 Custom a few decades ago!
