I'm in the process of replacing the mufflers and tailpipes on my '72 U code Supreme. In an effort to use all new hardware, I bought a set of repop tailpipe hangers from Inline Tube. I made sure to specify I needed ones for the non-trumpet exhaust, but I can't figure out how to install them. I checked the CSM, but the diagrams are pretty vague.
IM Terry, vette442 here. He should know this.
Inline has been somewhat troublesome lately.
Give the Fusick or Year One guys a call. They will know this too.
Correct, the turn-down on the tail pipe should be just visible beneath the bumper. The exhaust gases need to be able to exit from under the bumper; otherwise the lower tail light lenses will eventually warp.

💡💡💡..and the light bulb came on! After looking at Don's pic, I realized what I was doing wrong. I was attaching the hanger to the lower frame rail instead of the upper...DOH! Now it makes sense!
