Take a guess, What is it?

OK guys, just for fun I'm going to try to post some pictures of a started and finished project. The twist about this is you do some detective work and guess as to what it ended up as when it was finished. It may have turned out as the obvious first pictures hinted, or ..........................
Anyway, here are the first "Clue" pics.

Nice first guess! Better than warm, but not hot yet.

Well, I know the motor is hard to see under that cover, but it is not a 307. Here is a newer picture of the project completed. So, what motor is it and what is the vehicle? I'll post the pic of what it is tonight. Lets see who comes closest. Any guess of the year?

LOL, I figured someone would see that $100 alternator. Hey, these days you get parts where ever you can. Actually, that alternator was made by a local shop here. They charge $1 per amp and this car needed 100 amps to run the electric fans, stereo, etc. Here it is guys. Toronado drive train, 455 toronado motor, grafted on to the front of a 1976 El Camino. Thanks for playing along.

El Torino, I thought it might be a Vista by the fender braces.

Or ...... El Camado, either way it is a fun truck. A friend of mine built this years ago, so no, it isn't mine. The thing works great in the snow with the front wheel drive, until you have a good sized load in the back. Here is one last picture of the floor board. Nice roomy cab with no hump.
