Look in the phone book or Google it. In LA you really haven't looked good have you. I'm in Nor Cal I could send parts out to a shop and get parts back and rebuild it for $500 Labor.

I think what Gerald is trying to say, is that you are in a target rich environment. When I worked as a mechanic in SoCal we used a one-stop-shop in L.A. for our rebuilt engines but that was strictly industrial stuff and that was about 30 years ago. Hopefully someone can hop in the conversation with recent experience from a reputable shop.

Gerald, Yes I can take it to any engine rebuilder, but what I have seen in these Forums, sometimes its better to find a shop that specializes in rebuilding Oldsmobiles, such as Mondellos, which they charge an arm and a leg for rebuilding.

Recommendations if someone has used a particular Rebuilder that specializes in Oldsmobile engines.

Do your research before you spend money at Mondello, or anybody else in Paso Robles CA.

Nor Cal and So Cal both have jet boats and many shops rebuild motors from them. Why not try rebuilding one yourself. It can be done. Now lets see who has a video showing how to rebuild a Olds 455 ? BTR

Just curious why a rebuild? Engine sounded plenty smooth in the video you posted and didn't see any smoke or other indications of wear. What is it doing to make you think it needs rebuild? we may be able to diagnose something here before you go full boogie into an overhaul.

Take it the Go-mega belongs to the young guy in the vid? First car and all?
