1969 w-30 next project

I will be starting sat. on the deconstruction in hopes it will be ready for the fall mcacn 2017

That is going to be a quick build to make it to MCACN this year. Looks like a solid car and that helps alot with time.

ready for the body shop

Getting ready to drop off the body on Monday. It will take them 4 months to complete paint. Looking for nos parts to complete restoration. Looking for grills front hockey sticks, rear tail lite bezels and side markers.Any interior parts are needed. Thanks

I would have been tempted to clean it up and drive it as an original survivor car.

However, best of luck with the resto. Ambitious time line.

Got the dog house and rear disassembled ready for the removal of the body and frame.

restored parts

The front grill was repainted with sem stain paint and dull grey. Both were great matches.

Here are a few pictures of the frame. Surface rust should sand blast off. Took three hours for 3 man crew.

body in primer

took two days to get sand blasted and put in primer. Two holes were noted.

primer

Going to keep fire wall original with all the markings, also not going to sand blast under the car. Spot paint where needed. My goals are a day two restoration. Going to restore all original components. Trying to keep the price down and enjoy driving the car.

restoring original parts

Using east rust removal did a great job two weeks and 4 gallons of product. 23.00 a gallon.

sand blast 600.00
paint and body work 7800.00
stainless 800.00
chrome work 1500.00 for bumpers and tail lite bezels.

Nice to see an update!!!! Beautiful!! Is that the factory code 53 Nassau Blue? love the color. Are you adding stripes? A guy I went to high school with back in the late '70s had a '69 W31 holiday that was Nassau blue with white stripes,he also had cragars on it. It was one stunning car!!!(it ran as good as it looked!!)

its back

Now the fun begins the total of all the body work 13.500 that includes removing from frame sand blasting the car and frame and all the components. Painting all the upper and lower control arms rear axle core support and body. All chrome parts are nos and all stainless where polished to a show like shine.
