Sammy"s 70 Cutlass Convertable
I was going to part this car, but decided to save it instead. Hopefully the pics will only get better!
Removed front clip yesterday. Firewall looks good. The top frame is salvageable. Interesting to see the white liner on the top. I would assume nowadays nobody bothers with it.More to come, and thanks for following along as I go into the Abyss

Lot's of rust on that frame Ted. Please record those firewall stamps and post them here
Wish I was there to help you tear it apart. Shoulda bought my compressor and sandblaster back on April 1...
If that dash pad is cracked anywhere or gets broken taking it out LMK. I have a spare in the shed you can take home when you come out this summer. It's blue but can easily be dyed. Looking forward to your save on this one bud.

Thanks guys, I am going to need all the support on this one
Allan, the stamps were posted when I got the car last Fall. I wish you were here to help too!....pick ya up at the airport, or will you be driving?.
Hehe, the funny/ sad thing is I was pondering whether to buy them or not
The dash is excellent on this car, but it is nice to know I have another in case this one does crack....TY for the offer!
Just a bit more imfo on this car...it is a Lansing built, 350 4 bbl/ 350, power windows, rear speakers, white interior, silver with a black top. Bought it from a mafia looking guy in Toronto who knew little about its history!!

Ted if I remember right this car has the "Z" on the data plate. Be sure to look for any oddities, especially with the interior, that might be what that Z is notating.
Looks like a worthy project!

Tuned in and along for the ride Ted. Looking forward to watching you perform your magic. That color combo will look Awsome. There is a 70 vert being parted locally. Let me know if you need any parts and I will check to see if they are available.

So now it's frame off to the media blaster and then powder coat? Or maybe a spray instead? It would be cool to still find the frame VIN derivative stampings after all those years. Do you have a rotisserie yet? Maybe Henry (DENT) lives close enough you can borrow his?

Hey Ted and Allen......just found mine today.....couldn't find it in the normal areas? but saw it after I painted it on the DS side of frame rail, about the middle of trunk......my car was built in Cali

Between the two cars I will make a driver. Started patching the floor with the new welder. Works great. The top works and the 71 455 with edlebock intake, holly double pumper and G heads and headers runs strong. This car will be a driver....I finally will get my convertible with some hp under the hood

Trunk half repaired and both rear patch panels fitted.Floor needs paint...coming along. This car also has a posi ....have to open the pumpkin and see what is going on
