Getting to know the car tonight did a few minor things
its a code 26 Viking blue, love this color!
checked brakes adjusted rear drums. No cylinder leaks good pedal.
fixed some marker lights, trunk light.
still has two T 3 high beams.

The frame amd floors look great.
The top works great but needs new vinyl
I was told by the previous owner I can keep the rear glass and just get the vinyl top?
or do I have to get a whole new top with the glass back window together?
he said the window was very expensive?

Replace the rear window curtain along with the top. The rear curtain is not that expensive - it’s less than the top. The main failure on the rear curtain is the material separates from the glass and guess what? The top has to be removed to replace the curtain. So replace them both at the same time.

At least the top is in good shape just needs a little bit of armor all by the way it does go up and down.

This reminds me of my first car (and first Olds). My dad helped me pull it out from behind a barn. I always loved the '71 Supremes with that wide chrome molding along he marker lights! My 3rd Cutlass Supreme was Viking Blue like yours with white interior - my favorite color combo. FYI, I have some spare bolt-on center caps if yours are missing. PM me your email address and I'll send you some pics.

All 71/72 Supremes have the individual
letters. Someone replaced your deck lid with one from a 4 door at some point - that’s why it has the strip.

I notice your car has an 03B build date, but has '70 front fenders. Any sign of being damaged or that the fenders have been replaced? I've not seen the flat tops used this late before - not that I'm an expert lol And you have the 8-track tape storage box!

Not too familiar with the build dates, havn’t noticed any damage,
They look like Orig fenders to me. 8 track storage?

They do look completely original, which is why I asked - seems to be really late production to not have the dimpled top fenders!
Here's one of the storage consoles on eBay - it had dividers that you could insert to keep your tapes separated

I'm seeing a lot of optional equipment on your car.
Sport steering wheel
Deluxe seat belts
Sport side view mirrors
Visor vanity mirror
Front and rear push guards
Air Conditioning
Underhood light and dash map light (maybe parts of the optional lighting package? Is there a mirror map light?)
SSII wheels

Interesting that there's an 8 track storage box when the car doesn't have an under dash 8 track player. Somebody musta installed an aftermarket player at some point in the past and now it's gone.

yes on the map light and I got all of them to work so far except the mirror one I didn’t attempt that one yet.
Personally I don’t like the push guards I took the front ones off!
The seatbelts are deluxe?

I polished in between the letters And the side of the car too pic
I think I’m gonna put new tires on it because they’re all for different brands and sizes.

Yes, the silver buckles are the optional Deluxe seat belts whereas the black buckle belts are the standard equipment.

The mirror map light has a wire running up the drivers side A pillar and over to the rear view mirror mounting arm, then to a connector on the top of the mirror. I suppose the first thing to check is the bulb to see if it's burned out or not.

Here are a couple threads with info on the mirror map light. The first one has a good picture of the internal parts:

Engine detail

Decided to tear down the Engine Alittle for appearance purposes
check it out.
I made the mistake of not gunking the engine down prior fully so now I have to roll the car in the driveway and clean it that way and remain there until I put it back together because my driveway has a big incline and there’s no way I’ll be able to push it back up unless I get 25 people!

Already started tear down

Carb

Bracket for Altternator

Love the Fender May had it for Years!

Choke stuff cleaned up on wire wheel

Brackets degreased and painted spray bomb No powder coating here

Engine is getting there it’s all in the prep Work! should be painting tomorrow

Close up of Alt bracket

Coil, breather, brackets just wire wheels no paint would look fake if did. New center cap emblems look blurry plastic still on

Starting to look ok tuneup Decal on way! And. zRocker 350 Made a mistake I ordered the Larger Rocket 350 But mine takes the small. The four barrel lid is got a wider space for the decal than the two barrel but I’m going to make it work

The air condition is working pretty good. New belt thanks to Rockauto

My seat is not ripped I just like to cover the dirty seat to keep the dirt off me

Just found your thread. Nice. Very similar to my 71 Viking Blue Cutlass Supreme with Pearl interior except I have bucket seats and console shift. I took my fuel tank out last fall with a buddy to clean up the surface rust, repaint and change out the fuel sending unit. All day job and difficult for a couple of 50 year olds under the car. Getting more comfortable with paying my mechanic.
