My Junkyard Saved 65 442

Bought this car from a guy literally handing the title over to a scrapyard a little over a month ago. They offered $100, I offered $500. Got it to my shop and removed what was left of the car. Very, Very rust free car.

I'll be posting pics of the car as I get time. Here is a frame shot the day I lifted up in the air.

Aron, not trying to give away all my secrets right away, but I own my own shop. Not a resto shop, just general blue collar auto repair. I have four lifts. But judging by the 68 SS396 Chevelle, the 71 SS454 Monte, and the 55 Chevy, it sure looks like a restoration shop right now. The 442 is at the body shop right now. I forgot the 70 Corvette to.....

Provincial white monotone body with a Parchment interior. 400 automatic on the colomn..... hence Project Grandpa. Four on the floor would be your fathers Oldsmobile.

Getting bored waiting for this thing to get back from paint. Got a room full of parts waiting.

Welp, if that is even a word, I should have The Old Man back from painf on the 25th of this month. I breathed some life into it by going with 06 Silverado Victory Red instead of white. Instead of Parchment on the inside, I think black.

Been a long strange trip so far. My body guy said 30 days, we are hitting three months, but I will stay away from that subject.

Got THE most amazing phone call this morning. My body guy. "Andy, your car is in the booth. "Didn't you say the side scoops are body colour?"

WHAT??? Did you say booth? I didn't even threaten his families lives this time. I might have a car after all.

I pick her up tomorrow at 8 am. He texted me pics and it looks great. No more Grandpa though. Went with Victory Red like my 06 Silverado. And the 300 might not make it in. Got all the goodies for an M21 conversion. Pics by lunch tomorrow.

Wow, Andy.
Funny how this body style looks oh so good in so many different colors.
Don't pinch you arm too much putting on the lower chrome on the back of the front fender.
Amazing, saying you saved this is an understatement.

Lookin good.
I would re think the black interior. White interior w/ red outside would look sweet.

Someday when my car gets painted its gonna be black and i'll redo the interior in red. Always wanted a black/red car.

So did you do any cleanup to the undercarriage before painting?

Sorry Andy, only what I had from my car.
I had seen some odds and ends on e-bay lately.
This guy may have some.
