My Cutlass S.

hello everyone. i have been a member for about a month now and figured i would say hi. i have been around oldsmobiles all my life so 26 years now. my dad has alot of olds from 69-72. some really nice ones some not so nice. i bought a wrecked 70 cutlass S from him when i was 14 that im just now starting to fix up. i'm turing it in to a 72 olds 442 clone. i will post pics as i go. these are what i have right now. just disassembling it ans starting the body work.

the bird is not mine. it belongs to the guy that is painting my car.

when my dad bought my car it was wrecked in the front. so my dad thru a 72 front clip on it. so i just stayed with it no big reason.

You going to switch to 4 speed? How about the induction hood and rear wing. I have both hood and a wing for my 72 project. Just trying to figure out if I want to use them.

Nope i'm going to keep in the auto. Yeah i'm going to get the ram air hood, wing and 442 grills. i already have a center console and shifter but haven't found bucket seats yet. so i guess i will let the wife sit in the center for a little while. I'm doing red with black stripes with the w30 stripe on the side. with (if i can find 15") slotted wheels. 275-60-15 rear and 235-60-14 in the front.

Stick with 15" wheels front and rear 235 -60-14 will look goofy paired with the 28" tall 275-60-15

I had to put new quarters on mine also. Most likely you will also have to replace the trunk drop offs and outer wheelhouses. Not really a bad job, just time.

The worst part of replacing the outer wheelhouses and trunk drop offs, if needed, is drilling out all the spot welds. More than I can count Good luck on your the project.

So i have to finish up this thread. my body man called me and said the more he digs into this car the more he finds cancer and that i need a whole new shell. I guess whoever did the body work before us just bondoed over the rust and never fixed it so it got worse and worse over the years. so i brought it back home and parted it out. i have another car that i'm going to do instead i just need to go get it. so sorry if anyone has been following me i will start andother thread soon.
