My '69 442 W30 Body Off!
This is all new to me so be patient and I will upload pics and notes about what is going on and what stages I am in. This first group of pics are when the car was picked up in PA and brought back to Ohio where it was originally sold new.

I knew posting all of this would bring that back up and unfortunately, I have no new news. I did try to contact the son in law whom I was communicating with and have yet to get a reply. I really don't know what to do at this point. I was assured by her that I would have it before the Olds nationals this year in Cincinnati, but at this point I am just hoping to still get a chance to own it. That is clearly more important than the W car but I must admit it helps take my mind off of the H/O. Today was scrub the underneath day sooooo fun!

I wish I had that much elbow room/shop... I would have the frame off my 69 W-30 Post car,but she's sitting in the corner of my FULL garage just waiting... Also, I have no heat in my garage, so makes it harder to motivated to go out there when it's only 23 degrees outside....

Very nice, car looks to be very dry + hardtop+ manual steering+ non vinyl roof+ red fender wells look like they are in very good condition + the car looks straight.
Is that the original engine in the pick up
awesome car good luck with the frame off

Thanks, I do not have the original block but the "D" heads are there and the engine is fresh and ready to go.

Here are a couple of more pics.......
Gotta love it when you get a restored drivetrain with it! Check out the original spare/wheel combo still holding air! Goodyear Speedline Redline..... I sure wish the rest of the wheels looked that good!

I agree it is a nice shop. It is a local guy who does 90-95% Corvettes and if you know him you can get a metal car done. In all behind his house there are roughly 12 bays and he is building a 50x100 next. Don't let him fool you it is "just a hobby"! I have an oversized 3 car that I rent and also have no heat so no workie workie other than when I get to use the big shop.....

agree with others, that does look like a nice solid project. so what options, other than what we obviously see?
not to be that guy, but I hope you didn't trailer the car that way in the first pics because if so you got real lucky. you should criss cross the straps and tie it down using the suspension
I also hope you realize that air cleaner isn't correct.

First, I wasn't the guy who trailered it. The guy who did had all positive reviews and honestly I see a lot of people trailer cars like that to shows etc. I wasn't scared as he had insurance on his business. Not to be that guy....
The car is glade green code 57 with obviously white stripes on the hood. The interior is white and black bench seat. No power steering, no power brakes, and of course 4 wheel drum brakes. It is a bare bones car which is sweet. I don't know about the air cleaner being wrong because the second owner and I talk frequently. He had the air cleaner in a box from after they put a Holley on the car. He also had the original trans and I had received one for his Chevelle so we swapped.

To Inline Tube or Not To Inline Tube?
O.K. guys, I have read good and bad on here about Inline Tube and am now a bit scared. I have a bunch of stuff ordered (not lines just bolts and clips and hoses) to be picked up Sunday at Indy. Should I go elsewhere? Please reply as soon as possible as it is Saturday and I need to know sooner than later......

Hooray!! I made some arrangements and will still be getting my parts! As for Oldsmobile stuff being there I am not sure, but then again there never usually is an Olds vendor at a lot of these meets right? My buddies all leave waaaaaay too early in the morning for me to tag along (5ish) so I will let them go and tell me how great it was.

Well the Swap meet went well, I only spent $30 and everything I bought was needed and there was a good size crowd was there also. There was some Oldsmobile stuff, I should have bought a set of C Heads, but passed. All in all it was worth the drive.

Bad News I Do Believe.....
"Kyle,
Sorry for the delay in returning your email. The car is not sold, no firm offer has been made, all I know is that there are two extremely interested parties in the car $60-$70K range. Pretty sure Jack has decided he’d like to wait until 2014 to sell because of tax reasons, it’s not going anywhere this year."
I really need to find a way to get it off my mind for a while......

I have a question for all of you, which coil springs? Brand and or part number would be great. I have also seen reproduction spiral shocks, who has the best price on these? I thought about buying "Big D" red Delco NOS shocks but with all correct hardware is that wrong? I spent a bunch o cheese on all new hardware from In Line Tube so which way do I go??
