Getting back to your POP, the "S" next to the rear end code indicates January build which agrees with the body tag; the five digit code "01100" under the rear end code indicates Power Steering and Deluxe Radio; the transmission code "P7T28" indicates Muncie 4 speed, '67 model year and December 28 assembly date. According to the PIM rear axle usage chart, only the M21 or M40 THM transmissions are furnished with the 3.90 ratio gearing. I did not see a code on your POP for power brakes and although the angle of your engine bay pic does not show the master very well, it looks like a single pot master so maybe someone added the power brake and master at some earlier time. Interesting, your build date is first week January, my 442 build date is third week January and there are 779 vehicles built in that two week period.

Cool info yes some one added power brakes, poorly done job I would say but it has manual steering, with the one groove water pump pulley. All looks factory but a lot can happen in 60 years.

The de-turding process is about complete. Cleaned up the front bumper, it has been rechromed in the past and is in nice driver condition. The seats are gone but enough is there to recreate if I go that route. The door and side panels are for sure decent and rear armrests could also be reused. Have been busy ordering stuff needed to get the rotted sheet metal replaced.

Thanks! Such a rare beast with the bench seat aqua interior and 4 speed I had to have it. But with the blue 3 speed 67 post car not close to being done you see I am addicted!

You're welcome! I love everything about how that car is set up, and although I'm very biased, I think the "K" code Aquamarine is the prettiest color they ever used. I would love for mine to have that Aqua interior! I can certainly understand why it caught your eye!

I love the color options that were available on older cars, what a time. Btw, is that a Custom Cruiser or Roadmaster Wagon?

Looks like you will be keeping your upholsterer busy! The front bumper cleaned up nice. Just curious but does it have the brake line support piece, attached to the frame and between the distribution block and the master? Pic attached.

Take care of that front bumper, they are hard to find and expensive when you do find one. When mine was damaged in a minor accident I was stuck waiting for one for several weeks, Tri-city Chroming finally found one that they could re chrome for me for $1800. Sometimes you have to pay to play..

Will do! This car was missing the rear bumper, found a core locally ($140) then dropped it off at Tri City this past Carlisle swap. Will need $1300 to retrieve at Fall Carlisle.

Yes the brake line support is there. What they did was install the single reservoir master and booster and just T'd the single outlet into the 2 existing lines for the dual reservoir master. Seems all else is plumbed for the dual setup it came with.

I can only guess that this "bracket" was used to support the brake lines during assembly prior to mating with the master cylinder. It is listed in the PIM with an unusual to me part number 397854 and also is found in the IPB but with Group number N.L. (not listed). To me it's just a curiosity but for a "judged" car it is probably worth points.

Got busy cutting out front floors, they were like tissue paper. Driver's side frome mount was not looking so good so will put new there, other side probably also. The cross brace is in ok condition, no rot found. Got busy also trimming new metal for floors.

Anyone can learn to weld in about 30 minutes. It's the 2500 hours of practice to get good that's hard.

I've always said that I can make two pieces of metal stick together, but I would never call myself a welder.

Welding isn’t that easy if you want it to hold correctly and not warp the pee out of the metal. Yea you can gobble two pieces together complete with burn holes, goobers, warpage and what not.. but that’s not welding.
