78 delta convertible

Hey guys, after talking to ya at newbie forums and talking to more people about this project ive decided im going to cut the top off my 78 delta. At first the plan was to cut the top redo the interior and have it painted by spring but i think im gonna go the safe route and not rush the job. This winter im gonna do all the mechanical work, springs, shocks, tune up,before anything.Im then gonna do all the bracing including boxing in the frame after talking to more people, then cut the top. This year im gonna keep the original interior except for the back seats, gonna try and find some red ones out of a cavalier to leave room for the braces and i'll probly just put it black primer and throw some chrome mods on it for the summer and see if the car stays where it suppose to for the summer. If by the end of summer there is no flexing of the body and it seems to be braced enough then next winter i will do the custom interior and have it painted and get some nice wheels for it.It goes in the garage at end of oct to start the process and i will post updates with pics and i'm sure some questions along the way...thanks for support!

Sounds good. Post pictures as you go. I especially want to see what you do around the windshield to make that look good.

By the way, the word is actually "convertible" with an "i", not an "a." If you're going to have one, you at least ought to know how to spell it!

I'd be VERY interested in the top pieces that you cut off... And the interior "B" Pillar plastic.... Looking for the chrome vinyl roof trim, interior stuff...

I really really really liked the original car, but am open to seeing what could have been done with the car back in the day. IIRC the last 'big' Olds vert was in 75? Last vert produced by gm was Cadillac Eldorado back in 76. Elegance at it's finest
