76 Cutlass brake upgrade

I am contemplating updating the front brake rotors from the stock.

I am keeping the original tires 15x7. Have considered slotted rotors or others out of summit. Original rotors have been turned once, so they are getting a bit thin.
Is there that much improvement with slotted rotors over stock?

Any suggestions? Not planning on doing a rear brake disk. I rebuilt the rear drums with new cylinders and linings turned.

Don't waste your time or money on slotted rotors for a street-driven car. You'll never feel the difference. Get good quality replacement rotors. Get good-quality pads. If you still want more braking force, you can get the aftermarket D52 calipers with two pistons for additional braking that bolt in place of your stock calipers. LH caliper is the 1978-up metric calipers, middle is the 1969-77 large bore, and RH is the D52.

I installed the D52 callipers along with the slotted dimpled rotors from Summit Racing for my 76 Cutlass Supreme. As Joe mentioned on a street driven vehicle its not worth the extra $$$. I myself just did it for the look plus I wanted to drop a few pounds from the car with the wilwood callipers.
The braking is very good nice and smooth.
I don't know how to post links to show you the rotors I purchased but Joe P took the time to post a pic and show you the D52 Callipers .
I used the same D52 calliper only in Black
SUM-CAR8202PS ( Rotors) by the way these rotors are zinc coated to prevent rust, but surface rust is appearing on mine, I will have mine coated this spring.
Joe P...... you are awesome !!!!!

Ended up sticking with the same setup. I put on new replacement calipers, a decent pad that won't burn the rotor off. Rotors are fine for now, may need to replace down the road.
Had rear drums turned a while back with new shoes.

Thanks for the update, Nothing wrong with the original set up at all, they will last just as long as any D52 calliper/ slotted/ cross drilled/dimpled rotor upgrade. Plus you have a few hundred bucks to spend it somewhere else on the car.
