Thought I'd start my build.Story is i bought this car close to 20 years ago took it apart and started on it.At that time i redid all suspension, and started on rust repair.Been sitting on my homemade rotisere since life got in the way.I retired a year ago now I'm finally back at it.Got engine and chassis all together including lines and exhaust. Now back on the rust repairs.
Nice fab work! I just stumbled on this thread, any chance you could post some more pictures of your home made rotisserie? I have several of those innerduct reels laying around and would like to build something similar.
I know how it goes. I bought my 65 convertible in the summer 1990 planning on having it done by that fall. Still working on it....
love that you are saving on a wagon, my wife is jealous
Sorry took so long Wife got sick. The first is the rollers I built to rotate it.Although my first car I used it on I just rolled on ground but I had a lot of room.I used unistrut to mount to car front and rear body mount location. Then some 2” channel as horizontal supports looking back I would use something like 1/2 pipe.It really just stabilized the inner duct reels. When one was in my way I would remove it.Make sure reel is larger than car body.
Here’s some more metal work. Most of the rust on this car was around windows. It was very time consuming and tedious slow work to not warp the steel around it.
No worries on the delay, family comes first. Thanks for posting the pictures, that definitely gives me something to work with. I have a '68 VC and 8' reels so I should be good to go. Needs the same rust repair.
Great job on the fab work so far, it gives me some needed inspiration!!
