67 Cutlass fender rust repair
To me this feels like a project but I can move this if someone feels differently .
Apologies for starting off with some drama. I had another thread but fenders don't fit under that title. OK, on to the main topic. There is rust at the bottom of the fenders and the braces need some repair. I am open to advice, links to other projects if someone did similar work, and pictures from other similar cars that how how this should look when not all buggered up.
There's a piece of steel between the brace and the fender. If you know more about that please share.
I do have the patches for the fender. I plan to fabricate repairs to the brace.
Thanks!

Driver side fender repair
After staring at this long enough I tore into it and have the driver side repaired. Fortunately in the middle of this I did locate a passenger side fender and will NOT need to do this again! Whew. I worked on this from about May to September.
To give credit where due, here's the link that was HUGE help from gearheads78 - https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...a-6259/page10/
If the link doesn't work it's page 10 under the tile of "Last pic of it together for a while. (updated 8-01-10)"
- For this fender I had to rebuild a bunch of the inner brace out of 19 gauge, patch the outside including pressing some indentations on the bottom, and create a piece in between out of 16 gauge
- This repair took a bunch of working some on the brace, work on the patch, put it on, see what doesn't work, and repeat.
- The smaller brace was made out of 16 gauge to match the original. For that I made it in 2 pieces, did the bends, and welded it together.
- I tried to match new patches with the old but ended up extending the inner brace twice to get stuff to fit!
- The slideshow has 51 pictures in total. It can be paused and set to full screen. I haven't figured out how to make it end after 1 run.
- The first few are before and after, pictures of the "press" I made to build the bottom, then the brace, then the smaller brace, fitting the patch, and assembly
- For this "press" - gearheads78 posted doing the same thing July 26 2010, so I just copied that example. HUGE THANKS gearheads78!
