66 cutlass

Hey heres my first car bought it when I was 16 for $40 back in 76 cam went out of the 330 needed a motor so a buddy had a 350 pontiac I fit it in and finally ended up with a 400 with ramair heads . Car was pretty abused painted with a paint brush skyblue, house carpet hard to believe it was only 10 years old when I got it. got married in 80 the car pretty much sat till 96 then my boys and I tore it apart then it sat in pieces till 2009 I finally started on it. Did the frame first disc brakes ,new springs, lines ,made control arms. Made a rotisserie and replaced the trunk floor, rear widow well made a rear quarter patch panel from a extra front fender I had. The car had dents everywhere but I stayed on it all summer (my shop is outside) and fially my buddy let me use his spray booth and I got some paint on it need the motor and interior yet waiting for the weather and some funds. here are some of the pics as I was working on it and where it is now.

NICE! Thats one clean looker I have one of those too but shes pretty bad she does have a few parts on my hardtop. You know I have seen very few 66's at car shows never more than one at a show exept a all olds show I went too. They are a bitchen car I like the front and the rear bumps better than the 67's

I'm runnin the original 400 I just finished rebuilding it and put the first miles on it today. It's got a 750 DP, Torker intake, 100HP nitrous, VooDoo cam, Hooker headers and 3" exhaust. It's also running an M-21 with a 3:91 posi.

Heres a picture from last year.

DSCF6637.jpg

and here is a picture from last week, I changed colors to the Rustoleum copper.

IMG00146-20110305-1950.jpg

I haven't had a chance to get a picture of the complete engine yet.

I was at the Dells for a wedding last year and saw a ton of cars running around town but never made it into town for the cruise. I am planning on going this year but I'm not sure if I will take the 442. Two hours on the interstate at 3 grand sucks alot of fuel I will have to see how things are going when it gets closer.

just done my car in an oh-so- very close looking color.Several have asked if it is candy apple red ./But it`s REDFIRE MET Ford (eur).(one of options on the 07 stang) Only one drawback. She who must be obeyed says it`s not too masculine a color that she wouldn`t mind driving it Steering wheel is on wrong side over here so used that a negative to neutralise my position.

Looks like your making good progress. I"m glad to hear your keeping the window stickers. I couldn't help but notice your gauge placement, it looked familiar.

Your son is very tallented. What part of Wisconsin are you from? I would love to hire him on to do some art on my ride. I'm in Salem. If your close we should hook up & shoot the sh*t over a beer.
