Been tinkering with the stance and had Hotchkis stock height springs and never like the look. So now I believe I got the stance where I like it with 2 inch drop and 1 inch drop in the front. (The front end is a B-spindle upgrade in which I believe lowered it a bit anyway so I went with the 1 inch in the front) Not huge tires in the rear 235x70x15 on GM big car steelies and 205x70x15 in the front on big car GM steelies. Keeping the "sleeper" look of these early A-body GM cars. Now if just can get the interior done and have a 455 built!
TJ Pal, that's a very nice F-85. what rear tire size are you currently running. I believe I could get a fatter 255x65x15 in the rear that would be about it.
The guy I bought the car from installed a 70 type “0” rear end which is one inch wider than original. Because of this he bought 15x8 inch with a custom back space 5 & 3/8 of an inch in order to squeeze 275 sixty series tires in those wheel wells, tight fit! My front tires are the same size that you have on 15x6 wheels. Your car looks great!
Thanks. My car is pretty solid but I have to say that white paint hides a multitude of sins.lol. On the other hand the Robski’s car is dam near perfect!
OH NO it's not I put several "dings in the paint job" putting this car together. As soon as I fell comfortable, I'll get a body shop to touch up my handy work that I did to the paint...
Probably sometime when I get the interior finished. When that's done I going to look into building the 67 400E current in the car or a 455. Probably would be economical to build a 455 to get to 475 HP and over 500 Lbs.of torque vs. the 400E and still be a reliable, street friendly, long cruiser motor. However Mark ( Cutlass EFI) has a bunch of goodies now available for the 400E and 425's. All I would have to do is change the torque converter and build a new drive shaft to easily accommodate the additional power. The car was built to support at least that. Or just enjoy the 400E...cruising at 70 MPH in overdrive it just under 2100 RPM...
Would love a 200 4 R but I will probably stick with TH 400. I’m running 391’s but it is mostly a cruise nite bomb for me. I feel I’m a little over cammed also 542 lift 285 advertised duration in a 461, but it is fun. I’m trying not to overspend, but we will see. Lol
