AH HUH it is too a real car
Well yep it's true some times real life gets in the way of stuff, after 18 months of over a 60% decline in our household income ( my wife works for a public school district and I work in single family housing construction) I am able to get back to my Olds. Took a back seat for a while, I was able to get both doors hung and adjusted, all new weatherstrip installed, but... it was a bish, I scratched, gouged, chipped and scraped many a spot on the door jambs adjusting the doors. The repop window sweeps were tough to install the clips did not line up correctly and I had to drill them out and use screws to attach them, the vent frame went together smooth, the door weatherstrip was good.

Looking good! Glad you're able to get back to work on the Olds.
I hear ya on the decline of income, I'm in industrial construction and work in the power industry has been real slow the last year and a half.

Right fender
Here is the right fender of the front end I picked up in New Mexico 10 years ago. I was driving home from work in my 64 F-85 wagon, this car had a 65 front end on it. I met a 64 hardtop crossing the Rio Grande in Belen New Mexico , the guy in the hardtop hooked a u-turn and got behind me. I pulled over and we started talking, his 64 wasn't a 64 it was a 65 with a 64 front end. I said you gotta be kidding me, well we swapped front ends and here it is I know I am pleased. I had to weld up a couple of extra holes that were drilled at the F-85 script for whatever reason, and have many dings and pops, but umm er ah no rot.

It really is a car
So now it's a 3 door, door four is next. Big hole on the drivers side soon to be filled. Ack! is this thing legal to be on the street yet ? Ummm so I did blast down the steet, just don't tell. Felt like I was driving a Jeep not having a drivers side door

Yeah but it is all worth it in the end.You can drive it for years or do the unfortunate thing and sell it like many do.I personally don't see why anyone would put all the time and work into a car or truck and with in a short time like say a year or so sell it,seems to me it defeates the whole purpose of the project. The best part is wagons are making a come back and they were great cars. Some people are making drag cars out of them as crazy as that is.

Kind of hate spraying over this bare metal
We got a cold front in this weekend, it was down to the mid to high 80's Saturday and about 93 today, so I pulled a 14 hour day Saturday and a couple of hours today and now it's Miller time , funny how that bare metal kinda grows on you almost hate to squirt it.

110 degrees in the shade
Smokin hot this week, I hear you eastern guys are cookin as well. I saved the worst of the body work for last, had some rust pinholes I had to weld up and then seal in the lower quarter. I have some wavy sheet metal that I need to massage in the upper quarter, not real bad but it will take some time.
See I told you so Erik, I also have to deal with rust.

Breakin the law
It finally got above 65 degrees today, BRRRRR its been cold , so after working on the wagon for a few hours, I took it out for a few miles around the neighborhood, yes I admit a few vehicle equipment and traffic laws may have been bent or even broken. I carry much sorrow for this, but it had to be done, OK so maybe it does not have plates, bumpers, turn signals, tail lights yet, but it will someday. Once a project gets to the moving under it's own power stage it is tough not to take a peek. Nothing like a blast down the street for motivation.

Yes "getter" done! Nice to see another 64 in the project mode. FYI I have some left over 64 parts, need anything let me know. Even a correct 64 one year only radiator. Really nice ride, any A/C in the future?

Nice car. Nice job. Looks a lot like my '66 Pontiac Tempest wagon. These old "A" body wagons are cool, and a lot of fun.my car.jpg

Just started reading on your project here, What a Beaut!! I really like what you have done with it, stock appearing, but some neat mod's as well. Can't wait to see the finished product. Good Luck with it eh!

Sweet....nothing like a nice black interior! Did you get your bumpers replated, or are they original? They look very clean. I need a good rear like yours for my '65...

I am inspired to press onward with my VC resto. It was great to see your interior panels looking that good - specifically the rear door panels and the 'wagon only' inside rear panels. The small front of wheelwell panels on mine are fragged - I hope good enough to make a template. What did it cost you to have the work done? I was looking at doing it myself but it won't look as good as that.
