53 rat rod project

A little rattle can paint to cover up the ugly for now...until I get serious about the body! And new kicks

Found NOS front mustache bar and ends

When it showed up at the house!

53 olds 88, just a fun car to work on when I can! Looks like mostly original paint. Someone filled in a couple dents and put a lower rear quarter patch panel on the driver's side and primed the spots. Solid car though! Interior is in decent all original condition. Old-school built, with a 68 delta front clip that's been narrowed and scarebird front disc kit, 68 delta 88 brake booster with a 75 delta 88 master cylinder, and a th400. Lowered 2" in the rear not sure what they did in the front yet lol. The front bumper is 5 inches off the ground, but it rides nice and don't bottom out! Goes down the road nice! Runs and drives good. Putting together a 57 9.3 rear end with disc's and new rear springs, shackles, bushings and shocks. Main goal is to keep it running and driving and hopefully improve on it along the way!

Oh man! First let me wipe the drool off my chin, that is a nice car! I owned a '48 model 66 that I transplanted an early 70's 455 into that I had mildly rebuilt. Kept the TH400 too. Never changed the '48 third member but that thing held up to the torque of the more modern engine just fine. With gearing favorable to an old flathead six horsepower and torque that rear end smoked the tires so easy! It was so fun. My best friend and I painted it a green similar to yours but we used house paint and high density rollers, it was a semi gloss and it turned out really cool. I like your car lots and the new moustache bar is really nice too. Keep us updated on the project.

Wish I still had pictures of it here. I used to have an album full of my cars here but over time I guess IB purged some of their old files taking up space, or in an update I missed salvaging them because I haven't been here, or they are still here and I just don't know how to find them... who knows.
