1972 442 conv progress

Here are some progress pictures of a 1972 442 Convertible we have been working on for the last 2 years.
The care was sold new locally at Royal Oldsmobile in Richmond, Va. It was a real 350 powered 442. (Have window sticker). It started out dark green, tan top, and bench seat interior. Whitewalls walls with full hubcaps. Decided to build it the way I would have ordered it. It's going to be Matodor red, white top and bucket seat interior, 455, 4-speed, vintage air.

1972 442 conv progress

The good news is the paint and bodywork came out great. The bad news is the frame and floorpans now look terrible.
We decided to strip all the front and rear suspension.Staring at the front with a small flex grinder stripped the frame to bare metal. The frame was painted satin black, then taped up after it was dried.
The floor pans were next, removing most of the dirt and old undercoating.Since this is going to be a nice driver, we decided to spray bedline the floors and wheelwells.I have done this before on a driver and I liked how easy it was to keep clean.Very dirty job but came out nice
