A compression check won't tell you the valve size. No easy way out. Maybe a borescope through the spark plug hole? Nah, just wait until the day you rebuild it to put a beefier cam and stuff in there.

The Engine was balanced when rebuilt
it’s in great shape,
less than 5000 on rebuild

Well i have been playing with this carb for days even had a locl guy rebuild it what a waste of cash.
almost ready to get a holley for now until i can figure out this quadrajet.
Gonna buy a new accelerator pump for ethenol and do the ball bearing smash trick and also ordered a New carter fuel pump.
some suggested maybe too much fuel pressure could be the issue.

Your cam looks close to W30 grind.
That Q-jet runs good, just needs a little work to adjust the off idle tip in, don’t give up...

Nice work! Curious though...is there supposed to be a reflector on the pass side, or only the driver side?

The project is looking good. Did you decide on a color yet? Maybe I missed it in a previous post.
I am curious about the replacement of the rear glass rubber strip. Where did you source the new one and are they glued on the existing window? Is a heat gun used for removal?
Send updates when you can and keep up the good work. The seats really came out nice too

A friend of mine in Florida bought it this gentleman has cancer and he wanted to have a car to go to the dragstrip in Michigan I believe they do a stock competition so he bought the car and he’s working on it with his son.
I believe he’s going to continue to get this car ready for this year hopefully in the spring I’ll keep you posted if I get any information on it.
I know he bought a Pawsey traction rear end for it and some other original parts to make it complete. Oh it will be black!
