1970 Pace car Updates

Picked up this one owner 1970 Pace Car from the original owners son,
The gentleman had it since 1970 until he passed away about 5–6 years ago, The Car sat in storage for $500 a month thinking she would use it.
when the brother found out he said oh my god if you’re not gonna use it I’ll take it so he brought the car to Utah and he said it was not for him so he decided to sell it.
Waiting on a box of paperwork from the sisters storage unit supposedly has a lot of original paperwork.

Dropping off from Utah

Matching carb

This pic here is on our way to the 35th oldsmobile show in phoenix last Saturday. Few nice cars , we got there alittle late They were nice enough to let us park in the show. Met a few nice people there.

Y74 pace car code

Lettering going on

New Vacume actuator

Cleaned vinyl Top

New center cap decals

Detailed right side tail lights. must have been in the sun. driverside was fine.

Not bad for 10-15 mins work

I was looking for 70 Oldsmobile 442 again so when I came across this, I thought it was pretty interesting.
I will probably trade up to a 70 442.
I will make a few updates on this car. I think I’m gonna do a gardener exhaust with dual cut out rear bumper, Eric from gardener said they are eight weeks out. Other than that I put the decals on fix the carburetor issue and I’m gonna get these 26 year old tires off of it. It does have a small transmission leak from the rear seal and the valve covers do leak a little bit, which I will be doing also.
bought a few decals, door lock ***** GM sticker for the drivers door jam.

The carb isn't really "numbers matching". The number is correct but it's a service replacement carb build in 1975. It's easy enough to find a correctly dated 7040250 though...

ok. thx! I thought it was, but replacement is fine with me,
Not looking to be concourse at all, just want to enjoy, Life is too short!
i also learned my Hood stripes are too short by the windshield, never noticed on pace cars they go all the way to the windshield.
