Foo, you and Scrappie beat anything I've ever seen when it comes to metal working skills. The cost to have such repair orchestrated in a shop would be astronomical in today’s money.

You are both handy and determined, two traits necessary to see something like this to fruition.

thank you tnswt, It's defiantly good to hear others talking positive about the work ive done. it gives me more motivation to keep going. Ive had my fair share of not having funds or motivation to keep going at times. Im also learning as i go so its taking more time to get things to how i want them. So im hoping i can get the rear end back on this rear so i can at least moving it around I still have the driver quarter panel and wheel well before that happens. and some small things on the dash to finish up.

 

Not necessary to admit shortage of funds or motivation with the amount of work you have demonstrated on this thread. Regarding the money, I don’t care what money bracket one falls into, it seems there is never enough to go around.

Making the statement one has the wealth to have the work you have done performed by a reputable shop is one thing; it is a totally different statement saying: “I did the repair work myself.” That is something not every person can say, including myself.

Your chest should swell each and every time you walk by or talk about your car.

 

Haha it does. I don't think alot of the people outside the car world know how much work one of these takes. Here's to getting this thing done and back on the road so i can show her off (fun fact on this car, last registration expired in 1977)

Started on my restoration in 2010 and still going on it luckily I am moving on to reassembling but it has been a long time coming and still a long ways to go, keep it up looking great!

WOW, what a great job!! I love your repairs. I found the best way to male complicated inner pieces is just as you did, make one complicated bent piece out of 3 or4 pieces and weld them together on car. As others have said you have a lot of patience and skill. Your car is the perfect example of "You eat a elephant one piece at a time".

 

I tried both ways this seemed easier. though everything still takes forever with all the weird bends sometimes. All my bending is with a vise and a couple body hammers
