1969 442 Restoration

Hello, I just wanted to share my restoration pictures with you. I purchased the car from California and although it had little rust it was rough. It took about 2 years of weeknights and weekends but I am very happy with the results. My next project is a 72 Convertible. Hope you enjoy.

Day of Reckoning

This is the day of the paiting. I painted it the original color which is Nassau Blue. Was on the fence about what color to paint but after I saw it on the car I am happy I went with it.

I painted it at my local Vocational tech school at night. Best time I ever had.

Thanks James. I love this body style as well. As far as the top, I chose to remove it due to personal preference as well as future rust issues. Plan on having her in the family for a while and wanted to make sure she stayed as rust free as possible.

Yeah, those tops tend to trap moisture. I've got a Trophy Blue one w/vinyl top I yanked off.

and a Trophy blue drop top...............I've had for 40 years

Looks great

James she looks great. How great that you have had the car that long. I am envious and hope I can keep mine that long.

Paratrooper,

Thanks. Our cars look almost like twins. Trying to post picture of finished car but having trouble loading from my camera. Your car looks great. How long have you owned her?

Thanks, Just under a year the engine is being rebuilt now and while it's been down I redid the interior.
My car was originally Saffron but a PO changed it, I might go to Trophy Blue eventually.
Keep up the good work.
