So I got my dash pad in a few months ago, and my dash housing came in yesterday. After bolting the housing down to the pad I noticed that the pad isn’t lining up with the housing by the steering column. What do I do? I don’t want to mess up what I’ve been waiting for almost 4 months. I will also be making videos very soon on the installation and removal of the 1966-1967 dashboards. Any help is appreciated.
I would think slowly and with even pressure the dash pad will flex enough to line up? Should be a metal frame imbedded in the foam, doesnt look too far off. Or tell supplier its not right see if they have a fix or another in stock.

tried to slowly flex it to bend it into place. Doesn’t work. Anymore pressure and there goes another 3 months. Wouldn’t want to break this high quality piece of garbage. Do I just drill through the foam and into the steel behind it and install long self tapper to hold it into place?

got it to bolt up. The steering column divot isn’t flush with the housing but I assume when I bolt everything down in the car it’ll eventually line up. Onto the more pressing matters though, none of the screw or bolt holes are the right size for the tachometer, the gauge brackets, heater controls, the radio **** cover plate doesn’t fit, what do I do?
Cuss, then beat your head against a tree. Then slowly and carefully start to figure out how to modify to make work. Or take it out and try and find a good original.

Sounds good to me! I guess I’ll try drilling the holes slightly bigger and using a thread tap ever so gently. Here’s to hoping

also, these black grommets aren’t coming out, how do I get them out? They’re the 3 that hold the tach gauge mounting bracket.
And should I get a new circuit board for the dash or is it better to stay with the old one? Looks clean and in good shape to me.
