well, i finally got my legendary seat covers, that i ordered in april, good thing i'm in no hurry for them anyway. lol still waiting on the rear side panels and armrest pads for the doors. light show testing and install is in full swing so i haven't really touched the car in over a month. we open on november 11th so once we are up and running, my free time will come back to the car again. sad part is, i gave my transmission to a friend back in may when i recieved the rotisserie, still don't have it back. he's had some personal issues slowing him down this summer but hopefully i'll have it back by next month so i can be ready to marry it back to the engine.

Well, I got everything bolted together and the motor mounts aren’t lining up with the pads on the frame. When I got the car, the motor was out, and I personally didn’t move the mounts on the frame. I bought the first set of mounts off eBay, so bought another set from O’Reilleys today, just to see if the eBay ones were wrong, they’re the same. I kept my originals to make sure the ones from eBay were right, and they appeared identical, but they just don’t line up, and of course I threw the originals away, once I got the new ones, and they appeared the same. 😕

The tab i am pointing at is not allowing the mount to sit low enough to line up with the frame mount.

peter, is that an original color valve cover? i chose the Thornton repro color, it was really close to what was on my bell housing originally, but just seems kinda reddish to me. also, justin was spot on with the motor mounts, they lined right up and it's sitting back in the cradle again.

No...it was like this when I bought the engine. I think it's Bill Hirsch maybe?
I plan on redoing it with Fusicks.

That is VERY frustrating.
Does any other vendor carry them? Legendary or PUI?
I assume OPGI uses one of them anyway.

it is the legendary brand that I ordered. Research lead me to believe that the PUI was an inferior product.

Gardener exhaust is built, paid for, and in the mail. Complete concourse kit. Should have this body married back to the frame in a week or two.

Dry fit. Once I get my new manifolds, I will pull it apart and seal joints, then torque it all down for the last time. Won’t be long, this frame will have a body again, I’m going to keep the plastic on it until then, as well
as keep the tips covered while I finish the car, or at least until I start it for the first time.

nope. Was packaged very well for delivery, the rear hangers were a little bit of a pain until I realized attaching the clamps to the hanger, then install the muffler, makes it real easy. My existing manifolds were pitted prettt bad so I’m buying new ones from Thornton muscle car.

Wow wow wow

Finally got caught up on your build Duane looks tremendous great progress as usual after catching up on many projects on the forum it’s confirmed I’m the only slacker in this place lol !! Good info on compressor , I have been using an 80 gallon, but she’s a little weak kneed when pushing da sanders etc, plus noises as hell inside, I ran air lines out to the shed and will be getting a new compressor with more cfm , might just add my old tank as a reservoir like you did! Awesome

thanks Eddie, it's been a busy year. if it weren't for my light show that i started working on in august, the car would probably be driveable by now.

if you have the room, i would definitely add both tanks to the equation. more air reserve will result in less run time on your new compressor. i was very impressed with the performance of my ingersol rand 18.5cfm, 100% duty cycle compressor when sandblasting. i had to remind myself from time to time that i was using an air compressor and not something electric, my setup performed very well.

Awesome

I’ll definitely see if it’s doable with the extra tank. Any issues with water collection?

Glad you reminded me, I have plans on an automatic drain, with winter setting in, I need to get it done. I had a peace of pvc that I used to help drain the water out of my shed.

That exhaust looks KILLER Duane!!! Worth the bucks.

Could you take a picture, draw a diagram of your air compressor set up?
I really need to step mine up a LOT.
Moisture is a HUGE problem of mine 3/4 of the year.

well, i actually got to get in to the garage last night and tonight and get a little work done. with all of the production times being 3-12 weeks out, depending on what you need, i figured i better go through my parts and start ordering stuff i need. i pulled all of my harnesses out, was able to pull my dash apart and get it stripped, scuffed, and painted. tonight i finished putting the original dash plate into the OPGI dash pad and i have to say i didn't like the edges, but once installed, you can't really see them. also, the 6 screws that go across the tip of the dash plate, didn't have pre drilled holes, that was tricky. i am in the process now of ordering the parts i will need to get the engine running. i should have this baby breathing again by end of January.

These have only been out a few years and not much feed back that I have seen

dash fit nice. only down fall is it don't have the pre-drilled holes for the the under side of the top. there are 5 screws across the top that were a pain to get in through the metal.

Going to follow along on the console rebuild closely , they repop the base but the pot metal top plate is unobtanium , mine also has some pits under the chrome , I cleaned polished and painted it but am still unhappy with finish…
