I'm changing color on my interior strato buckets.
I would like to go with a basic pattern without duplicating the factory look.
Vertical or horizontal pleats only with the woven type fabric...Pontiac style...I hate vinyl seating surfaces and the single horizontal stripe of the 72 cutlass interior..seems odd with only a single pleat...takes away from the pattern of the interior.
Please post your interior pics to give me some ideas.

What's the plan, having a shop do it for you? If so go to a reputable shop, they have pretty much any material you want. BTW, the price for custom isnt that much more than the quality vinyls ones sold.
If you want to make your own, I have a few dozen links for good abrasion resistant material and UV resistant thread.
If you want to make new door panels, package tray, headliner, etc yourself to match, check out my build. Not too difficult.

I don't suppose the seat kits are made here in America?
Anyone know a good upholstery shop in NE Ohio?
I'd like to go with the most cost effective method,but want the seats to last...just like the originals.
I doubt I'd get 40 years out of some seat covers....
I have door panels in decent shape,but all my headliners are trashed.
I'm mainly looking for a comfortable driver quality car...not a perfect restoration...I plan on driving the car.

 

A friend of mine had his Pontiac seats done in fabric they looked okay he took his seats in during the slow time of the shop. I think he only paid a few hundred bucks to have front and rear seats done

 

Go to some car shows in your area and see who some of the people there used and are happy with. You can also see who the dealerships in your area use to put aftermarket leather in customer cars. That's who I used and they did a very nice job on the the whole interior.
