Does the a/c duct to the driver side vent on a 68 cutlass run under or above the steering column? The manual is not clear. I suspect above; if so, any pictures or descriptions?

On the 69's, which should be similar, the hard plastic duct on the driver side goes from the passenger side underdash manifold assembly, under the steering column, and bolts to the bottom of the dash to the left of the steering wheel. From there, the flex duct goes from the hard plastic duct to the dash vent. You can see this on Sec 1-1 pages 213-215 in the 1969 assembly manual.
