A pillar removal

I want to remove the A pillar covers on the inside of the car to paint. I removed the screw at the top and bottom but it was still tight. Is there something else I'm missing or do I just need to use some muscle? I was afraid of breaking something so I did not put too much into it.

You have to remove or loosen the kick panel, sill plate to rempve the pillar molding.

with the door open look down at the very bottom of the trim piece. Should be a screw there.

If these are the '70-72 metal moldings there are only two screws holding each one on....one up high and another you see at the very bottom when the door is open.

You shouldn't need to loosen the kick panel. I removed a set from a '70 a couple weeks ago.

Just remove the two screws and carefully twist, etc. Usually they are stuck at the top. Sometimes there's windshield chaulk touching them and make them stick a bit.

Yeah the inside on my '72. I wanted to make sure there were not clips or anything I did not see. I'll work them loose when I get time this week. Thanks for the help.
