Anyone know how to take apart the seat back from de rest of the seat? Its a bench seat with fold down armrest. I removed the rails and the armrest but i cannot find out how to remove the seat back from the rest of the seat. I have an new upholstery kit looking really beautiful and i really want to install.
i made some pictures
can anyone help me out? I have to remove this bolt thing?
Since this is from a 4 door, I assume the seat back cushions do not fold forward?
There is likely a bolt going from the bottom cushion into the upper cushion to keep it in place.
Flip the seat over remove the hogrings from the rear flap on the underside of the seat.
You will probably be able to see through the frame structure to the bottom of the upper cushion, there will likely be a bolt or plate or something keeping the seatback in place.
Remove it, then the seatback should tilt forward like a 2door seat...
Remove that derby cap from end of the hinge pin. There will be a c-clip or axle clip under it, remove that,
Pry the hinge arm off the pin, lean the seatback forward and lift the hinge arm end of the cushion up at a 45 degree angle and pull the whole thing out.
There is a single hinge pin with a hook on the tip on the inside of the cushion that goes into a hole on the armrest mounts.
Lifting it up on the outside and pulling stright out will remove the upper cushion. Repeat on the other side.
