As I continue to work through my 'new' 72 98 two door, I'm now wanting to remove the clock to repair it as well as replacing 2 of the 4 (I believe) little "under dash" bulbs, (above the radio, windshield wiper controls, etc), that have g
one out. Anyone know how to remove the clock and the bulbs (see pics). Thank you.
Use a thin flat blade screwdriver to pry out the floodlights and access the bulbs. There should be enough wiring slack to r&r the bulbs.
Use the bulb your owner's manual and CSM specify to avoid overheating and melting the dash plastic and floodlight lenses.
Been 30+ years since I pulled a 71-73 clock but I think the narrow woodgrain outline moulding can be pried out of the dash and access the clock mounting that way.
As always, the information is in the 1972 Oldsmobile factory Chassis Service Manual.
If you don't have one yet, acquiring one should be your first order of business.

Thanks Rocket. I’ll gently work around those little blue light covers and the wood grain trim. I just got the CSM but … it’s not that easy to navigate and find stuff. I’ll keep digging. Thanks again.
