Viking Blue interior color question

I have a 1971 Cutlass S, Viking Blue. I am looking to purchase a center console unit. I would like to buy an original blue. I've seen several listed for sale, but the color seems too light from the pics. Was there only one blue color for the interior or was there light, medium, dark blue? Bottom line, what color blue should I be looking for to match my blue interior given the exterior is Viking blue? Thanks.

I looked in my book and it says there was only one interior blue in '71. It's really hard to determine the shade with photographs. That blue vinyl changes drastically depending on the lighting conditions.

Viking blue interior color

Bluevista. Thanks for the response. Now a follow up question. Given the center console is the same for 70-72, could there be different colors of blue for the 70 or 72 model?

I've had two 1970 4 door Cutlass's with blue interiors. I had been told that shade was a 1970 only color. I'm not an expert... but that's what I've been led to believe. John

The blue color on the console for 1970 is not the same as the blue color console for 71/72.

The blue color on the console for 1970 is not the same as the blue color console for 71/72. The 70 is slightly lighter blue with a little pearl in it. I know I have a 71 blue console, but I think it is broken. I can dig it up in a week or so from the barn and take photos if you like to see the color.

Now we're getting somewhere. So, I need to purchase a console from a 71/72 to be correct for my 71 Viking Blue Cutlass. Thanks.

Or............. get whatever console you can and have it painted the correct shade. The 1970-72 consoles were all molded in black plastic then painted to match the color of the car they were to be installed in. John

Texas442. Pics of your console would be much appreciated if you could dig it up. Also, please check for the private message I sent you. Thanks!
