Currently looking at various steering wheels on ebay as my wheel is quite worn. I was considering a 442 style wheel but wouldnt mind a wood one either as itll match the trim on the gauge panel/doors. I found this wheel on ebay: https://ebay.us/lYgqix
I noted however, that it has a depth/dish of the wheel is 4". Seems like quite a bit given that the factory wheel doesnt have any. Does anyone have experience with this wheel or pictures of a wheel installed on a cutlass with such a dish. I like the look of this wheel but want to make sure it wont look out of place before ordering.
The seller has been on ebay since 2003. Maryland based.
That's a pretty cool steering wheel. Hopefully someone has used it or a similar one and can give you a pic. Have you considered repairing the stock steering wheel in your Olds?
My stock wheel is a basic green wheel. I am planning to redo the interior in black so I think its easier to swap the wheel then spend alot of time repairing/dying the original..
I am contemplating the 442 sport wheel but they seem to be about 350$-400$ for a decent one, which is substantially more than this wood one, which would look good as well.
That is a copy of Chevelle Sport Wheel, I have one in my 1970 Chevelle. I have a Grant 14" in my Cutlass and I like it much better than that 15" in the Chevelle.
Here is what it looks like in Chevelle. Not my car just a random picture from Internet.
Here is a 14" Grant in my Cutlass.
That style has been discontinued, but the in the link is almost exactly like it. 14" Grant Olds

Several of our chapter members have wheels like this three spoke wheel in their cars. To me, the wheel looks a little cheesy and definitely "aftermarket" in person. Your call. I prefer the 1968-style three spoke faux woodgrain wheel. Repros are available now.
I found this on epay, it's from Tracys corvette. It uses all the GM factory horn parts & hub. Since I already had the faux walnut wheel, this one just bolted on. It's "flatter" than the factory wheel & smaller(14") I like it much better, plus it's real wood. It wasn't cheap though, just the wheel was $229.

That's a very nice wheel. Nothing on ebay similar to it at the moment.
Offered in high gloss or low gloss, will go with low gloss as the interior faux wood isnt gloss either. 442 wheels are too expensive, this is reasonably priced and comes with a Olds horn button. Will post pictures after the install!
