what's the best method on installing the fake metal wood to the dash. glue or double sided tape.

Gel type glue. I've used plastic trim adhesive.

I've had the best luck with spray adhesive. Spray both sides, let it tack up, then install. I've had gel glues break down after a while and also partially dissolve the dash......
The funnest part is the masking, then discovering what you forgot to mask.
