Don't know about the vents, but the cost to recover a dash is obviously related to the shape and size. A friend of mine recently got a quote of $900 for a Pontiac dash. I've bought complete parts cars with good dashes for a fraction of that.
Repair/Replace Dash??
No one makes the dash or vents.

Last time I looked you could find whole dashes c/w air vents etc. If you find someone parting out a car, make them an offer on all the stuff you need. This search usually shows around 1000 or more items for sale in the related years. FYI 1970-72 uses exactly the same dash and AC vents.
The dash is basically 3 main components: The dash pad, the dash insert(left side in front of driver) and the glove box. You don't need to get the exact color for your car because every one of these parts can be dyed or painted to suit your needs.
For the silver trim around the lower area of the dash, it's not metal, it's plastic. Same thing with the silver trim on the AC vents. Something that works well to give it a nice silver look again is Elmers opaque paint markers. The color is silver argent. Cap looks like a dull silver but when you use it itcomes out looking like chrome. You can find these markers at most hobby shops; anywhere they sell plastic model cars etc. Hope this is what you're looking for.
If you're refering to the "bottom of the dash", it's not actually the dash. It's part of the cars front structure that holds the dash components.
What the heck happened to your car that it's all melted? Were you using it for a research project in the New Mexico desert with the windows rolled up?

Mike, I have some extra dashes and there may be others on the site that have them too. If used parts would work for you then post a parts wanted telling us exactly what you want (including color) and what part of the country your in (for shipping costs). John
