Way to tell if seat covers are original?
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if there was anyway to ID original vinyl covers? Wondered if my interior might still be factory. Note the card still under seat spring!

Looks original but you should get thar mouse nest out of there. One of the best ways to tell if the seat covers are orignal is to look closely at the stitching. Original stiching will fade an get dingy. Newer covers will have much brighter stiching at the seams. The white/ red binding material also looks original. I have nor seen any reproduction covers with that.

Those are definitely original, as stated by another poster above, that heavy canvas cording around the inside of the upper cover is not reproduced... so dead give away, but thats only on the upper bucket cushions.
usually the best way to tell is by the hogrings.
Factory covers were installed using a pnumatic hogring gun, and the hogrings are loaded in a magazine like a nail gun, and they form circles after they are closed.
Manually hogringging uses different "loose" hogrings that wind up looking like a triangle when closed.
Now to be fair, you can still buy a production hogring gun, and i have seen some places do that... but 99.9% trimers do it by hand with the triangle shaped hogrings.
