Speed-Minder Speedometer question.

I found a Speedometer with Speedminder in a 1970 Cutlass parts car. After bead blasting, re-painting, making a new lens, a little metal blackener and sealant on the **** and about 3 hours of my time, this is what I have to show for it. Any Cutlass experts that can answer a question or two? Did Olds put this in the 1971 and 72 Cutlass and was it available on cars equiped with cruise? What's it worth, did I waste my Sunday afternoon?

That looks really good, no waste of time at all, just for fun and practice it's worth it. Ill take it if you don't want it.

I thing that's called a "Safety Sentinel " speedo in Oldsmospeak.

There are guys with major parts catologage here and maybe they'll chime in. I looked at the option codes for all three years and in 1970 there was a U15 code speedometer with Safety Sentinel.
In '71 there was a UB7 code speedometer pkg. with trip odometer and Safety Sentinel, in '72 the same except they called it "Speed Warning".
I'm not sure if you could get it with cruise control? It has nothing to do with it mechanically or electronically so I don't see why not but who knows?
The '71 and '72 seem to have a trip odometer so not sure if it would be correct for those years unless you could get it by itself.
I've never seen a Safety Sentinel for sale but I've never seen a lot of things.
It must be worth a more than a few bucks but I really have no idea.

My 70 442 has one, and it is a floor shift version.

I found a NOS buzzer relay for it as well at a Olds dealer in Nebraska for $17......
