sem low luster clear on vinyl??"

I'm repainting my vinyl pillar, seat backs, an arm rest and I was told using low luster clear on it was a bad idea.. Any thoughts or previous experiences??

For interior I would use egg shell clear. the low luster still has a slight milky shine to it. We did some window shutters that where plastic for our boss and we did them in the low luster clear and it was too shiney then we did them in eggshell and they looked good. We used Sherwin Williams finishes. many napa store carry them under martin senior.

Martin senour has a line of interior colors that are mixed using their polyester basecoat toners that look great and are designed to be just sprayed with no clear after. I have also used their polyester base coats on prepared plastics and they look great too. The hardener added makes them extremely durable and enormously opens up the color choices to you. Recently when matching the color for my dash I noticed the cluster housing had metallic in the color. Sprayed my matched outer color and bada-bing had the factory look instantly.

I'm not an upholstery guy but, whenever I hear leather I also hear saddle soap. I usually approach fabrics with a gentle then to aggressive mode on cleaning because it's so easy to ruin them. Soft bristle brushes and patience and maybe some orange cleaner (diluted) is my standby if you must know.
