Seat Adjustment Control *****

The seat adjustment control ***** on my car (1968 Cutlass S) were old so I ordered a new pair from Fusick. In the Assembly Manual they say they are a “press fit” on the adjuster control arm. However, when I push the ones I bought from Fusick onto the control arm, it is not a snug fit and they can easily be pulled off when adjusting the seat. I'm looking to make them fit more snug, but still have the option to remove them if need be. Any suggestions? One suggestion was to use some type of contact cement. And I was thinking maybe just use a little 3M Strip Calk.

I would think that strip caulk is too soft, so I would suggest some kind of tape, either duct or electrical that has some body and yet is flexible. You add more wraps to the stem for more resistance. If you want to remove the ****, just pull firmly. Try that.

you need to push them on harder. They go one specific way, make sure you have it right direction. If pressed on far enough they won't easily pull off.

OR...

you can buy the polished metal ones from classic industries (1st gen camaro catalogs) and they use a set screw, and are oh sooooo much nicer than the plastic ones.

@Rambow, it is pushed on as far as it will go. I'll try the suggestion from @Yellowstatue and build up the stem a little bit. Thanks for the input.
