Rear view mirror replacement

The rear view mirror in my '72 Supreme is worn and tired, so I'm thinking it's time for a replacement. Is that covered in either the CSM, BSM or ASM?

Are you looking to have the glass replaced, or the entire mirror assembly?
It's just attached to the roof of the car for the assembly, but having the glass replaced is probably something you should have a glass shop do.

The whole assembly. Mainly I was wondering if the connector for the map light is up at the roof or down near the fuse box, and does it share the same circuit as the courtesy lights?

The map light wire has a bullet connector that plugs into the top of the mirror. The wire runs down the drivers side A pillar to the kick panel area. I have never removed the wire on mine so that’s about all I know.

Scott Winn who goes by oldspackrat was re-silvering the mirror and restoring the housing on these a couple years ago. You might send him an email to see if he has any in stock at this time.

Just talked with Scott, he hasn't been on CO for a while and is having a brain freeze on his password. He's still restoring these mirrors. If you want to talk with him about it call him at: 317-727-7041

Thanks but I've already gotten a reconditioned OEM unit from Paul. Just need to know the ins and outs of installation. I'll reach out to him though.

That makes me happy to hear that. I was thinking the whole mammajamma was soldered into one wire back to the fuse panel.

No, not soldered. Bullet connector on the top of the mirror and a plug on the other end.

Not a 72 mirror but the wire is the same.
