Hi, I would like to verify in what order these parts go on. I am putting in a new headliner, and was wondering if the metal bracket mounts on top of the material or under. In other words, should I put the mirror bracket in before the headliner? Thanks in advance.

 

The metal bracket goes on top of the headliner material. The interior colored trim piece goes on top of that bracket. See the pic below. Pardon all the clips in the picture. This was during my headliner install. Tip. Put your screws in before the headliner is installed and leave them only threaded in a few threads. That way they will bulge out and you can find them. Then you can cut a small slice in the headliner where the screw head is to push the screws through the material. That is ALOT easier than trying to find the screw holes after the headliner is in.
