Quarter panel window trim attachment
Quarter panel window trim attachment
Found out my 72 uses just a little double sided tape to put the hardtop door window to quarter window seal piece on. Rolling the window down caused the rubber molding to get under it and flip it off the window. The other one is not stuck on very well either.
I am thinking 3m double sided emblem tape for most of the length. Is that correct to reattach with?

The correct thing is door setting channel tape. It's like a butyl tape, no glue. You can see it on pg 113 of the AMES GTO catalog. It's 2.00 a foot, I think it's the thinner one, I always buy extra it's good stuff to have. You lay it in the channel, or put it on the glass edge, and gently beat or force the channel on the glass. It's cheap and done forever. You have to make sure the door jamb seal is split right, too.

This is the right way to do it. The Fisher Body Manual (IIRC), or maybe it was the Parts Book, has the correct dimensions, thickness and width, for the butyl rubber tape. You can trim the width as appropriate, if you can't find the correct width. As mrolds69 says, there is no adhesive used. To make installation a little easier, spritz with water the inside of the tape on the glass side. Works like a champ. Be careful with alignment top-to-bottom. If you install it too low or too high on the glass, you have to disassemble and try again.
