Going to be installing a new package tray that has yet to arrive. Anyway, I have rear speakers back there on my 75 Hurst Olds. I got the mesh one so I can mount the speakers under it, rather than having to top mount the speakers. Anyway, The prior owner just covered the speakers over and the old "deck" with carpet. I've torn the carpet out and there's a cardboard tray there in tough shape and it has holes cut in it for the sound to exit.
Question: Does the new package tray just go over that or should I remove that cardboard and the new speaker tray takes it's place !?? The seat back is already loose so I understand I have to remove that, and maybe some lower trim around the window to install the new tray.? Just need some step by step instructions.
