Making Door panels

So ive gotten my Olds out of the snow and pulled in my shop.Pulled seats to drop off at upholstery shop. Iplan to make my own door panels and door jam panels and package tray.

Iplan to use the old ones as a template and wrap them with the same material ive chosen for my seat material. Ive finished painting all the interior trim over the winter as well.

Anyone ave any advice on what is the easiest material to work with and going last in the car?

I recall another member used a thin plastic sheet material because it was water resistant easy to cut and easy to mold.

i think it was user garys68&72 or some variation of that he had a 72 442 resto mod that he did a lot of work on and he was using the car as a daily driver.

ill see if i can find the thread....
