Post some detailed pics of what you mean about not fitting.

The windlace is off white and the plastic part is bright white,u shaped as to slide over the metal edge, which it can't do because of the wood.Mine is from opgi.Maybe its for a chev as worded on the bag sticker.Olds windlace should lay as in you'r picture, and staple to the wood. The material that lays on top of metal, and under the striker, should be wider and not plastic, right?I hate to order and return until I get the correct lace,so,anyone know where to get the lace pictured on the brown car? Also, where can I get the arm rest base thats like the original ? Had to return a set that had raised areas from the mould, see pic. Thanks!

Your sewn cloth looking windlace is VERY different than the original plastic one. It does not staple to anything.
I got a set at the Parts place back in 2008 or 2009 that did not have that raised area at the mounting screw.

Craftsman- The factory original windlace like Rob pic'd has metal inside part of it (the part that slips over the QP edge). The metal acts as a stiffener and helps hold the things in place...no need for glue, etc with factory windlaces.
I'd return those and find a decent set of original used ones...as close to the white as you can get. You can then paint/dye them to match if they aren't close enough.
You may not have liked the fit of those armrest bases anyway....the repros I have seen don't want to fit right. Unfortunately you have a white interior and finding white original armrest bases in nice restorable condition is next to impossible. If you can find clean used ones you can also paint/dye them to match your interior.
Nothing like the original stuff for good fit, etc.

I ended up using the ones from Fusick which where snow white and had to cut out for the convertible brass striker plate. Since my interior is pearl, I ended up buying a can of pearl interior paint from Year One and spraying them to match the interior. I believe they are manufactured by REM.

I can try the fusick parts,is the plastic as wide as the striker?I want it to be wide, ones from opgi were too narrow, only would need to cut 1/8 inch.

I know the plastic needs to be cut, but,I was looking for an aftermarket windlace that has the same width plastic(the part that gets cut for the striker) as the original. The plastic slides onto the quarter panel edge.Original width is 3/4 ",after market windlace i bought, has only a 3/8 to 1/2 inch wide plastic.Could you poast a pic of the fusick windlace on the car showing the striker plate also? This would help me.Thanks for you're help!

If they're factory then they have metal in them. The metal is inside of the part that slips over the QP edge (actually only the flap that fits behind the QP lip. Don't think there's metal in the flap you cut for convertible striker clearance).
The round welting part is just foam filled for shape.
